Cape Town, South Africa. 1992…
Nelson Mandela has been released from prison and the country has entered a pre-election interim period. The atmosphere is volatile as many groups vie for their place in the sun – from Black Power groups to Right-wing activists. Even ordinary South African citizens are aware that these circumstances are definitely not ordinary…
Hannah Jordaan, a journalist, is attacked at her brother Paul’s house after their mother’s funeral. This seemingly random and unlikely event is extremely puzzling. Added to this is the fact that Hannah’s behaviour is out of character. Threatening letters and telephone calls start revealing that there is much more to Hannah’s injury than Paul could have imagined.
To complicate matters further, Hannah disappears and their lives that used to be simple and ordinary, suddenly become very complicated. As the situation becomes steadily worse, Paul finds himself more and more out of his depth in his attempts to help Hannah.
Soon all their lives are in danger when some people are prepared to go to any lengths to achieve what they want…
